Iran Warns of Backlash Against Israel Over Gaza Airstrikes, Assassinations

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan'ani said Sunday that despite Israel's "brutality, war crimes, and genocide" in Palestine, the strategic balance in the region will never shift in favor of the Israeli regime.

Iran (IMNA) - Kan'ani's statement came after Israeli airstrikes on two schools in Gaza City killed at least 30 Palestinians and injured over 100 others.

The Iranian official also condemned Israel's recent acts of assassination, including the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and a senior Hezbollah commander, Fuad Shukr, in Beirut. Kan'ani warned that the "anger of free nations" will ultimately backfire on the "Zionist criminals and their supporters."

Palestinian Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal described the scenes at the bombed schools as "tragic," with 80% of the victims being children. The attacks have been condemned by many around the world, with the death toll from Israel's war on Gaza now standing at over 39,583 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
