Iran, Qatar Urge Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza as Israeli Regime Continues Atrocities

Iran's first vice president, Mohammad Reza Aref, and Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, have called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, condemning the Israeli regime's ongoing atrocities in the besieged territory.

Iran (IMNA) - The two officials made the appeal during a meeting in Doha on Friday, where they also discussed regional developments and bilateral relations.

The meeting came as Iran proposed an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address the crisis in Gaza. Aref, who was in Doha to attend the funeral of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, expressed hope that the resistance would continue until final victory. Haniyeh was martyred in an attack on July 31 and was buried in Lusail, north of Doha, with thousands of mourners attending his funeral.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has warned the Israeli regime of a "harsh response" for Haniyeh's assassination, saying it was the Islamic Republic's duty to avenge the Palestinian resistance leader's blood.
