Iran's Pistachio Exports Soar to $273 Million, Up 193% in First Four Months of Year

Iran's pistachio exports have seen a significant surge in the first four months of the current year, with a 193 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the chairman of Kerman's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture.

Iran (IMNA) - Mehdi Tayebzadeh reported that the value of pistachio exports during the March 20-July 21 period reached $273 million, a staggering rise from last year's figures. This growth is part of a broader trend, with Iran's overall agricultural exports increasing by 32 percent in value and 22 percent in weight year on year.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) revealed that the country exported approximately 2.226 million tons of agricultural products worth $1.18 billion in the first four months of the year, with pistachios emerging as the top exported item at $237 million.

Iran's non-oil trade also saw a significant boost, reaching $36 billion in the first four months of the year. Exports accounted for $17.5 billion, while imports totaled $18.5 billion. The country's overall foreign trade is expected to continue its upward trajectory as the year progresses.
