Iran (IMNA) - The evacuation order has sent shockwaves through the hospital, with staff scrambling to relocate patients and medical equipment. According to eyewitnesses, entire departments are being emptied, including areas housing patients and tents for displaced Palestinians.
The United Nations Human Rights Office in Palestine has expressed deep concern over the evacuation, warning that it will likely result in massive displacement, suffering, and family separation amidst severe shortages of food, water, shelter, and other basic necessities.
The move comes as Israel continues its brutal campaign against the Gaza Strip, which has left over 37,900 Palestinians dead and more than 87,060 injured since October 7. The conflict has forced most of Gaza's 2.3 million people to flee their homes, with many displaced multiple times.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society is working to relocate patients to nearby medical facilities, but the situation remains dire. The evacuation zone includes an area surrounding the Kerem Shalom crossing, a major aid crossing to southern Gaza. The region is also home to a critical water pipeline.
As the humanitarian crisis deepens, international organizations are calling for an immediate end to Israel's aggression and a solution to the long-standing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
