Iran Announces Presidential Election Candidates Ahead of June 28 Poll

The Ministry of Interior in Iran has officially announced the names of the candidates vying for the country's upcoming presidential election, set to take place on June 28.

Iran (IMNA) - The candidates include Masoud Pezeshkian, Mostafa Pour Mohammadi, Saeed Jalili, Alireza Zakani, Amirhossein Qazizadeh Hashemi, and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

The election comes after the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raeisi and his entourage in a helicopter crash on May 19 in Iran's northwestern mountainous region. The winner of the election will succeed President Raisi, who was martyred in the crash.
