Iranian FM Urges EU to Act Responsibly, Sanction Israel Instead of Imposing Restrictions on Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has called on the European Union (EU) to act responsibly and sanction the Israeli regime, rather than imposing further restrictions on Iran.

Iran (IMNA) - Criticizing the EU for imposing additional restrictions on Iran for defending itself against Israeli aggression, the diplomat emphasized the need for the EU to resist following Washington's advice to appease the Israeli government.

The Israeli regime attacked the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, on April 1, resulting in the destruction of the entire building and the martyrdom and injury of all individuals inside.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that seven of its military advisors were martyred in the Israeli attack. Iran retaliated by launching a barrage of drones and missiles at Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories early on Sunday. In response to the attack, Iran announced that it does not seek to create tension in the region, but rather aimed to punish the Israeli regime.

Iranian officials have strongly warned that the country will give a severe response in case of any fresh Israeli aggression. The Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, criticized the European Union for its lack of action against Israel's genocide against the Palestinians through various war crimes, missile attacks, and famine. He urged the EU to act responsibly and impose sanctions on the Israeli regime, emphasizing the need for the EU to resist following Washington's advice to appease the Israeli government.
