Israeli Airstrikes in Rafah Result in Deaths of Pregnant Woman and 10 Children

At least 16 Palestinians, including a pregnant woman and 10 children, have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in Rafah, a densely-populated city in the southern Gaza Strip.

Iran (IMNA) - On Sunday, Israeli forces conducted airstrikes on Rafah, resulting in the death of a pregnant mother, a father, and a daughter after an Israeli raid hit their family home in the al-Shaboura camp. Although the pregnant woman was already dead upon arrival at the Kuwaiti hospital, doctors were able to save her unborn baby, according to medics. In addition, an Israeli aerial assault targeted a house on George Street, east of Rafah, killing five Palestinians, including four children, and injuring several others.
A separate strike by the Israeli military killed eight people, including five children, in the Palestinian city. Rafah, which is home to around 1.5 million Palestinians who have been displaced due to Israel's US-backed genocidal war on the territory, has been designated a "safe zone" by Israel.
However, the recent assault has left the people sheltering there terrified with nowhere left to go, as Israel threatens an all-out military offensive. The assault has mounted fears over a new carnage against Palestinians and drawn global condemnations. Israel waged its brutal Gaza onslaught on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for the regime's intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people. Since then, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 34,049 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 76,901 others.
