Iran's Ambassador to the UN emphasized that Iran will firmly and legally retaliate against any threats or acts of aggression.

Iran (IMNA) - Iran's actions against Israel were a justified exercise of self-defense, as stated in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, in response to Israel's continuous military aggressions, including an attack on Iranian diplomatic premises on April 1st, 2024, which violated the UN Charter's Article 2 (4). Ambassador Amir Saeed Iravani expressed regret over the UN Security Council's failure to maintain global peace and security, enabling Israel to overstep boundaries and violate fundamental international law principles.

Iran's Dedication to Peace and Vigilant Defense Amid Regional Tensions

Iravani highlighted that these violations have intensified regional tensions and jeopardized both local and international peace and security. As a responsible UN member, Iran upholds the Charter's principles and international law, avoiding conflict escalation. However, the Ambassador cautioned against further Israeli military provocations and assured that Iran will steadfastly defend its people, national security, interests, and territorial integrity against any threats or aggressions, responding forcefully in accordance with international law.
