Iran Vows to Maintain Flag's High Status in Modern Life on Islamic Republic Day

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani emphasized the nation's commitment to upholding its flag's prominence in all aspects of contemporary life during a flag commemoration ceremony held in Tehran on the occasion of Islamic Republic Day.

Iran (IMNA) - The event took place on the 12th of Farvardin, marking the anniversary of Iranians voting "yes" to the Islamic Republic in a two-day referendum that concluded on March 31, 1979.

The ceremony, held in the Abbas Abad Tourism Zone, was attended by foreign ambassadors and Iranian government officials. Kanaani highlighted Iran's successful foreign relations during the calendar year 1402, ending on March 20. He stated that in the new year, Iran intends to expand its relations with countries willing to collaborate within the framework of shared interests and mutual respect.

Iran's Minister of Tourism, Ezzatollah Zarghami, also addressed the gathering, describing the Iranian flag as a symbol of national unity and coexistence among various ethnic and religious groups in the country. The green represents flourishing and thriving, the white symbolizes peace, and the red signifies the courage and bravery of the Iranian people.

For the past ten consecutive years, Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts has organized a flag commemoration ceremony, where a 1,024 square meter flag is hoisted at a height of 150 meters in the Abbas Abad hills in northern Tehran. Ambassadors and chargé d'affaires representing numerous countries in Iran attended the event on Sunday.
