Iranian Foreign Minister Congratulates Pakistan on National Day, Amid Improving Bilateral Relations

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has extended his congratulations to the government and people of Pakistan on the occasion of their National Day.

Iran (IMNA) - In a post on his social media account, Amir-Abdollahian expressed his felicitations to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

This gesture of goodwill comes after Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi emphasized Tehran's readiness to enhance comprehensive relations with Islamabad during a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in March. The two nations had faced a temporary setback in their relations due to escalating cross-border tensions over counter-terrorism operations earlier this year. However, both Iran and Pakistan have since taken steps towards easing tensions and fostering a more cooperative atmosphere between their neighbors.
