Iran (IMNA) - Speaking on Wednesday, Zarepour stated that the satellite will be deployed into orbit by the Russian Soyuz rocket to enhance international collaborations.
"The Pars 1 imaging satellite, which is entirely Iranian and constructed by domestic knowledge-based companies, will be launched tomorrow," he said.
Designed and developed by experts and young scientists at the Iran Space Research Institute, Pars 1 is a research and measurement satellite. It will be placed in orbit approximately 500 kilometers from Earth's surface.
Last month, Iran successfully launched three homegrown satellites into orbit with altitudes ranging from 450 to 1,100 kilometers. The satellites Mahda, Keyhan-2, and Hatef-1 were launched from Semnan Province's Imam Khomeini Space Launch Terminal by Iran's Defence Ministry's Simorgh satellite launch vehicle.
In January, the Aerospace Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) also launched the Soraya satellite into orbit using the Qaem 100 satellite carrier. The launch marked a significant milestone in Iran's capability to deploy satellites into higher orbits.
Despite ongoing sanctions imposed by Western countries, Iran has made significant advancements in its civilian space program. The country is now recognized as one of the world's top 10 nations capable of developing and launching satellites.
Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Issa Zarepour, has announced that the Pars 1 research satellite will be launched into space on Thursday.
