Iran Unveils Indigenous Anti-Ballistic Missile Defense System

The Iranian Ministry of Defense presented a cutting-edge anti-ballistic missile (ABM) defense system and low-altitude air defense (LAAD) system developed entirely by the nation's military experts.

Iran (IMNA) - The event took place in Tehran, where Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani introduced the domestically produced Arman (Aspiration) ABM system, also known as Tactical Sayyad (Hunter). Capable of detecting and tracking up to 24 targets within 180 kilometers (111 miles) and engaging six to 12 targets simultaneously within a range of 120 kilometers (74.5 miles).

Revolutionary Upgrades Boost Arman ABM Defense System

In a groundbreaking advancement, the Arman ABM defense system has integrated a self-protection system into one of its missile turrets, rendering it impervious to low-altitude threats. The newly enhanced air defense system boasts enhanced mobility by consolidating radars and missile launchers into a single vehicle. The Azarakhsh (Thunderbolt) low-altitude defense system is designed to provide close-in, low-altitude, surface-to-air weapons support for frontline combat zones, maneuver forces, critical installations, and units involved in specialized operations.

Iranian military experts and engineers have achieved significant advancements in producing a wide array of domestic equipment, ensuring self-reliance for the armed forces.
