Iran Successfully Launches Three Homegrown Satellites into Orbit

Iran achieved a significant milestone in space technology as it successfully placed three domestically developed satellites into orbit.

Iran (IMNA) - The satellites, named Mahda, Keyhan-2, and Hatef-1, were launched from the Imam Khomeini Space Launch Terminal in Semnan Province on Sunday. This remarkable feat was made possible by the Simorgh (Phoenix) satellite launch vehicle, manufactured by the Iranian Defense Ministry.

Among the three satellites, Mahda deserves special mention. It is a research satellite meticulously designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested at the prestigious Iranian Space Research Center. Weighing 32 kilograms, Mahda serves as a lightweight platform to assess advanced satellite subsystems, pushing the boundaries of technological innovation.

Iran Conducts Space Cargo Assessment and Launches Nanosatellites

Iran's space agency, Mehda, has successfully assessed the performance of the Simorgh launcher in multiple injections of space cargo at low altitudes. This mission also involved the evaluation of new designs and the reliability of indigenous technologies in space.

In a significant development, Iran Electronics Industries, a state-owned subsidiary of the Defense Ministry, has designed and developed two nanosatellites for launch. These nanosatellites, named Keyhan-2 and Hatef-1, are both cubic in shape and weigh less than 10 kilograms.

Keyhan-2 is specifically designed for space-based positioning. It is equipped with state-of-the-art status determination and control subsystems, enabling stable and precise aiming towards Earth.

Hatef-1, on the other hand, aims to prove the use of narrowband communication technology in the Internet of Things (IoT).

Iran's advancements in space technology signify its commitment to developing cutting-edge capabilities in the aerospace industry.

Iran's Civilian Space Program Thrives Despite Western Sanctions

Iran has made significant advancements in its civilian space program, defying the sanctions imposed by Western countries. Currently ranked among the top 10 countries globally in satellite development and launches, Iran continues to make impressive strides.

Just last week, the Aerospace Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) successfully launched the Soraya satellite into orbit. This achievement was made possible through the utilization of the Qaem 100 satellite carrier. Despite the limitations imposed by sanctions, Iran's determination and technological prowess in the field of space exploration remain evident.
