Iranian Parliament Speaker Urges Russia to be Cautious of Western Exploitation

In a statement made on Saturday morning, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf expressed his concerns over the West's potential exploitation of Russia's mistakes.

Iran (IMNA) - Ghalibaf's comments were in response to the 6th Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum statement, held in Morroco last Wednesday, which addressed Iran's trio islands.

Using X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran's Seventh National Development Plan (7NDP) is dedicated to the development of Abumusa, with a focus on the three islands. The plan aims to enhance various sectors such as commerce, the sea-oriented economy, higher education, medical care, and more.

Iran's response to the UAE was emphasized as a practical measure, according to the official source. He further highlighted that Iran's relationship with Russia is grounded in national interests and mutual respect. Any assertion that threatens Iran's territorial integrity goes against these principles, and Iran will evaluate such claims in the context of its ties with Russia. Any such action will be met with a strong and decisive response.

Tehran has strongly criticized a joint statement by multiple Arab nations and Russia regarding Iran's three Persian Gulf islands - Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb, and the Lesser Tunb. The Iranian government considers this statement as interference in its internal affairs and emphasizes its unwavering commitment to preserving its territorial integrity. According to Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the final declaration of the 6th Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum in Morocco was seen as meddling in Iran's internal matters.

In a recent gathering attended by Arab representatives and Russian experts in Morocco, a statement was released, drawing criticism for its multiple shortcomings. The primary concern raised was the unwarranted interference in Iran's internal affairs. The individual condemning the statement expressed disappointment at the lack of attention given to the Palestinian cause by certain Arab nations. Specifically, the UAE was singled out for its regrettable position on the Palestinian issue, including its support for Israel's actions in Gaza. Furthermore, it was noted that instead of taking tangible actions to halt the Israeli attacks, the UAE continuously raises unverified claims regarding the trio islands.
