Iranian culinary heritage showcased with atlas of gastronomy tourism

In a ceremony held at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts headquarters, a comprehensive atlas of gastronomy tourism in Iran was unveiled.

Iran (IMNA) _ The event was attended by Ali Darabi, the deputy minister for cultural heritage, Alireza Izadi, who oversees the ministry's heritage registration office, and Seyyed Mostafa Fatemi, the head of the department for domestic tourism development, along with other officials and travel experts.

During the ceremony, Darabi expressed gratitude for the upcoming first anniversary of Yalda's UNESCO registration and emphasized the significance of gastronomy tourism. Izadi underscored the importance of the atlas, highlighting its purpose of effectively introducing and preserving intangible heritage through meticulous collection and compilation.

In a recent statement, Fatemi emphasized the importance of a newly released guidebook that aims to enhance the presentation of various culinary traditions across different provinces. He revealed that numerous gastronomy events have been organized nationwide over the past two years, with some even done in collaboration with other countries.

Fatemi also highlighted the establishment of a comprehensive database within the Iranian food federation. Notably, he proudly announced the formation of a national culinary team, which secured a gold medal during its debut participation in Armenia.

Experts believe that the introduction of this comprehensive atlas is a significant milestone in preserving and showcasing Iran's rich and diverse culinary heritage.
