Iran Army Bolsters Air Defense Force with Home-Grown Karrar Drones Armed with Majid Missiles

In a significant development, Iran Army's Air Defense Force has recently added numerous domestically produced Karrar drones to its fleet. These advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were equipped with air-to-air Majid missiles, enhancing their capability to intercept and engage airborne threats and hostile targets.

The unveiling ceremony took place at the prestigious Khatam Al-Anbia Air Defense Academy in Tehran on Sunday, where high-ranking military commanders and officials were in attendance. Notably, these Karrar drones had already demonstrated their operational effectiveness during a large-scale drone exercise conducted by the Islamic Republic of Iran Army in October.

Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Chief Commander of the Iranian Army, emphasized the significance of an ongoing development that signifies the advancement of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force.

He highlighted the collaborative efforts between the army's scientists and the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, as well as knowledge-based cores, in meeting the army's requirements. Major General Mousavi stressed that enhancing defense capabilities across land, sea, and air borders remains a fundamental principle for the Iranian Army.

Mousavi urged adversaries to reassess their air-to-air combat tactics, particularly in relation to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). He emphasized that the Iran Army's Air Defense Force holds a significant advantage in aerial conflicts.

"History has shown that our strength instills despair in the enemy," Mousavi declared. Meanwhile, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard, Commander of the Iranian Army's Air Defense Force, hailed the Karar drone as a remarkable accomplishment achieved by the nation's youth.

The Iran Army's Air Defense Force and the Defense Ministry revealed that they have successfully achieved a significant milestone. According to their spokesperson, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard, this feat was accomplished after a rigorous one-year period of continuous research and scientific efforts. He emphasized that unmanned aircraft and drones possess distinct advantages over manned ones, particularly in terms of cost-effectiveness. Sabahifard further highlighted that Iranian-made drones are capable of executing operations comparable to those performed by manned aircraft, while offering enhanced capabilities at a significantly reduced price.
