Iranian Foreign Ministry Condemns PGCC's Statement on Persian Gulf Islands

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Nasser Kan'ani, has strongly denounced the recent statement issued by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) regarding Iran's trio islands in the Persian Gulf.

Iran (IMNA) - Kan'ani expressed Iran's firm stance, emphasizing that any claims over Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb are considered interference in Iran's internal territory, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He expressed regret over parts of the final statement from the 44th PGCC session involving the Islamic Republic of Iran, rejecting it as unacceptable. Iran reaffirms that these islands are an integral and perpetual part of its territory, condemning any claims made over them.

In a recent statement, Kan'ani, an Iranian official, emphasized Iran's missile capabilities within a transparent military framework aimed at deterrence and national security. Kan'ani identified the military presence of non-regional actors and the Zionist regime as genuine threats to regional stability. He stated, "The illogical military presence of non-regional actors and the Zionist regime poses a real threat to regional security, serving as the primary source of insecurity and threats to Islamic countries and regional stability."
