Iran (IMNA) - Leading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, Díaz-Canel will arrive in Tehran on Sunday, marking the first visit by a Cuban president since the late Fidel Castro's trip 22 years ago.
On Monday morning, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi will extend an official welcome to his Cuban counterpart at the Sa'adabad historical and cultural complex. During the visit, senior officials from both countries will engage in the signing of important documents and memoranda of understanding, signaling a commitment to further cooperation.
Additionally, President Díaz-Canel will hold separate meetings with several Iranian authorities to discuss various matters of mutual interest. Furthermore, he will have the opportunity to tour an exhibition showcasing the latest collaborative achievements between Cuba and Iran in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.
In a significant development, the visit culminated in the signing of six major cooperation deals between Iran and Cuba, promising to deepen their bilateral ties and foster greater collaboration across multiple sectors.
