Iranian Foreign Minister Urges Enhanced Diplomatic Efforts for Ceasefire in Meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister

In a meeting held in Beirut, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that Iran has no intention to escalate the war and highlighted the potential transformation of regional conditions if the conflict were to spread further. The meeting took place late on Wednesday with caretaker Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati.

Iran (IMNA) - Amir-Abdollahian stressed the importance of diplomatic efforts to secure a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza. He warned that if the Zionist regime continues to pursue and expand the war, the regional situation would significantly differ from the period before the ceasefire was implemented.

Responding to the discussion, Prime Minister Mikati criticized the inconsistent approaches adopted by certain countries, as well as human rights organizations and international bodies, towards the situation on the ground in Gaza. He reaffirmed Lebanon's unwavering support for Palestine over the past 75 years, considering it a just cause where power should not overshadow what is right.

Mikati also commended Iran's continuous support for the oppressed people of Palestine since the beginning of the Zionist aggression against Gaza, which started 45 days ago.
