Iran, UAE Reach $34 Billion in Trade Exchanges, Strengthening Bilateral Relations

In a meeting between Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, and UAE Ambassador to Tehran, Saif Mohammed Al Zaabi, it was announced that the total value of trade exchanges between Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reached $34 billion in 2022.

Iran (IMNA) - Minister Bazrpash emphasized the cultural and religious commonalities shared by Tehran and Abu Dhabi, highlighting their potential to play a leading role in regional dynamics.

On the occasion of the UAE's National Day, Minister Bazrpash expressed satisfaction with the recent advancements in political, economic, trade, and tourism relations between the two countries over the past two years. He expressed hope for further expansion of amicable ties in the coming years.

Iran has prioritized the development of neighborly relations, particularly with the UAE, believing that cooperation between the two nations will not only serve their national interests but also contribute to the stability and security of the region, added Bazrpash.

To enhance bilateral cooperation, the 3rd Iran-UAE Joint Economic Cooperation Commission meeting is scheduled to take place in the coming weeks. The chairman of the commission also highlighted that the United Arab Emirates ranked as the third-largest export destination for Iranian products, according to statistics from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA). Minister Bazrpash underlined the potential for further expansion of trade in various fields between Tehran and Abu Dhabi.
