Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Strengthen Bilateral Relations in Tashkent Summit

During a meeting held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral relations between their respective countries.

Iran (IMNA) - President Raeisi arrived in Tashkent on Thursday morning to participate in the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Uzbekistan's prime minister and other officials.

During their meeting, President Raeisi highlighted Iran's foreign policy priority of fostering political and economic interactions with neighboring Islamic nations. President Mirziyoyev echoed this sentiment and stressed the need to strengthen relations and cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan.

As part of his visit, President Raeisi is scheduled to hold meetings with other heads of state attending the ECO summit. Additionally, the summit will address the Gaza issue, as mentioned by President Raeisi prior to his departure from Tehran to Dushanbe. He stated that the heads of state would discuss this matter during the summit.

Furthermore, an Iranian delegation led by President Raeisi met with their Tajik counterparts on Wednesday evening, where they signed 18 cooperation agreements in various areas such as economy, trade, education, and culture.
