Iranian Ambassador Accuses US of Supporting Israeli Regime's Ongoing war on Gaza Strip

In a statement made during the UN Security Council session, Iran's permanent ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, criticized the United States for its alleged support of the Israeli regime's ongoing war on the besieged Palestinian territory of the Gaza Strip.

Iran (IMNA) - According to the ambassador, the US has worsened the conflict by openly aligning itself with the aggressor, disregarding the plight of the innocent Palestinian population. The war, which began on October 7 following a surprise attack by Palestinian resistance groups in response to Israeli crimes against Palestinians, has claimed the lives of over 5,791 people in Gaza, including more than 2,000 children and approximately 1,400 women.

The official condemned the US for its swift provision of military and logistical support to the oppressive occupying regime, holding them accountable for the brutal massacre of innocent Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The health ministry in Gaza also provided a grim account of the regime's bloodthirsty attacks, reporting that over 700 Palestinians were killed in the deadliest night of Israeli strikes. According to a spokesperson, the Israeli occupation expanded its targeting of multiple areas, resulting in approximately 50 casualties within one hour.

The media office in Gaza revealed that Israel had dropped a staggering 12,000 tons of explosives on the Palestinian territory since the war began, with the explosive force equivalent to the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. Despite international outrage, the United States has continuously hindered efforts to hold the occupying regime accountable, utilizing its veto power to block more than 40 resolutions within the Council. In contrast, Iran reaffirmed its unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, vowing to stand with their aspirations until the occupation is ended.
