In a meeting with prominent Nigerian cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky in Tehran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, expressed his belief that the ongoing movement in Palestine will persist and ultimately result in the Palestinians' complete triumph.

Iran (IMNA) - Addressing the situation in the Palestinian territories, particularly the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been enduring relentless Israeli airstrikes for a week following a Hamas operation, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the significance of these events as a demonstration of Islam's power. He lamented the loss of innocent lives, including women and children, while simultaneously highlighting the resilience and strength exhibited by the Palestinian people.

Ayatollah Khamenei reaffirmed the responsibility of the entire Islamic world to support the Palestinian cause, stressing that it is incumbent upon everyone to assist their fellow Muslims. He also noted the expansion of the Islamic movement across various regions, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, expressing confidence that its success will continue to grow with the blessings of God.

In a significant turn of events, Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife, previously under strict home arrest in Abuja, have arrived in Tehran to a heartfelt reception on Wednesday. The couple's arrival marks the end of their confinement and signals a new chapter for the renowned figure.

The backdrop to their ordeal traces back to a tragic incident in 2015 when Nigerian army troops launched a devastating attack on Sheikh Zakzaky's residence and an Islamic Movement in Nigeria place of worship in Zaria, Kaduna state. The brutal assault resulted in the loss of lives of over 3,040 loyal supporters of the Sheikh.

Adding to the immense pain endured by Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife, they have also experienced the heart-wrenching loss of their six sons. Regrettably, three of their sons fell victim to the Zaria massacre, compounding the already immense tragedy.
