Iran's Navy Commander Announces Combined Naval Exercise, Commitment to Maritime Security Cooperation

Iran's Army Navy commander, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, has expressed Iran's readiness to exchange information on atmospheric issues and announced that Iran will be conducting a combined naval exercise in the Indian Ocean. This announcement was made during the first International Conference on Indian Ocean Tropical Cyclones.

Iran (IMNA) - During his address, Rear Admiral Irani emphasized Iran's responsibility in providing economic security for shipping, major oil tankers, and commercial vessels. He stressed the importance of being aware of storms in advance as they significantly impact shipping operations.

Furthermore, Rear Admiral Irani highlighted the need to harness the power of storms worldwide. In addition to the upcoming exercise in the Indian Ocean, he mentioned plans for exercises in other oceans.

Rear Admiral Irani also emphasized Iran's commitment to expanding cooperation with all maritime security centers. He stated that Iran is ready to exchange information on atmospheric issues, with a particular focus on the Indian Ocean.

Currently, Iran maintains direct relationships with Oman and Pakistan in the field of maritime security. However, the country aims to establish a significant presence not only in the Indian Ocean but also in other oceans.
