Iran plans to produce 55 million tons of steel by 2025

According to a senior member of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA), Iran aims to achieve an annual steel production capacity of 55 million metric tons by 2025.

Iran (IMNA) - Currently, Iran's steel output capacity stands at 45 million metric tons per year, which has increased by more than six times over the past 20 years.

In the next two years, Iran's steel output capacity is expected to grow by over 22%. More than half of Iran's current steel production is exported to other countries, and Iran intends to expand its access to export markets.

Despite facing challenges such as restricted access to normal banking services due to US sanctions, Iran has witnessed a significant increase in steel exports this year. The surge in exports can be attributed to a boost in domestic output and the limited international supplies caused by the conflict in Ukraine.

Iran has a significant steel production capacity. The country has invested in steel production infrastructure and has several steel mills and plants spread across different regions. Iran's steel industry plays a vital role in its economy, contributing to employment and export opportunities.
