Iran (IMNA) - Amir-Abdollahian, in charge of a significant group, left for the Saudi capital on Thursday for a day trip at Prince Faisal bin Farhan's official invitation.
The senior Iranian diplomat is anticipated to speak with Farhan and many Saudi officials on bilateral relations, shared concerns regarding the Muslim world, and regional and global trends.
Amir-Abdollahian is accompanied by Alireza Enayati, the Iranian ambassador to Riyadh, who will officially launch his mission. Iran's embassy in Riyadh resumed operations in June.
Iran and Saudi Arabia decided to reopen embassies and restore diplomatic ties seven years after their relations were broken on March 10, following several days of rigorous discussions held in China.
Following the agreement's signing, Tehran and Riyadh issued a joint statement emphasizing the need to respect one another's national sovereignty and refrain from meddling in one another's internal affairs.
They also agreed to put into effect a May 1998 agreement to increase economic, commercial, investment, technological, scientific, cultural, sporting, and youth affairs cooperation, as well as a security cooperation pact inked in April 2001.
On June 17, Farhan led a significant team to Tehran, where he met with President Ebrahim Raeisi and his Iranian equivalent.
The Iranian foreign minister stated that maintaining regional stability is crucial to the creation of a more safe and prosperous future while speaking at a joint news conference with Farhan.
