Iran (IMNA) - At the 12th round of the political talks between Iran and Brazil, Bagheri Kani stated that collaboration between Tehran and Brasilia will assist protect the interests of independent nations.
The 12th session of the discussions regarding politics between the two nations took place in Brasilia on Thursday, and it was presided over by Bagheri Kani and Carlos Sérgio Sobral Duarte, the secretary for Africa and the Middle East in Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Iranian diplomat emphasized that unilateralism and extremism are on the decline around the world and that stability would be supported on the basis of multilateralism if each nation participates to the best of their abilities in the political, economic, and international systems.
Bagheri Kani stated in other parts of his speech that the two countries are committed to holding a meeting of the joint economic commission within the coming months.
The "complementary economic capacities" between Iran and Brazil "herald sustainable and stable economic cooperation" between the two nations, he noted.
Senior officials from Iran and Brazil also spoke about measures to expand and diversify trade and commercial relations as well as foster collaboration in the fields of science, tourism, the environment, and legislative affairs.
They expressed opposed to unilateral sanctions and favored multilateralism and diplomatic solutions to the world's unresolved problems.
