Iran ready to lend a hand in promoting peace, security in Europe

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani says Tehran is ready to help promote stability and security in Europe.

Iran (IMNA) - Bagheri Kani stated that collaboration and respect are the cornerstones of Iran's policy toward Europe during a meeting with Serbian State Secretary Goran Aleksic on Sunday in Tehran.

The top Iranian official stressed the need to expand commerce with Serbia and other Balkan nations. Consolidating economic relationships, he asserted, is essential for long-term stability.

For his part, the Serbian official said that his current "constructive visit" to Tehran will strengthen bilateral ties in all areas.

Aleksic praised Iran for standing up for the territorial integrity of Serbia and asserted that more commerce between the two countries is unavoidably necessary.

The Serbian State Secretary is leading a delegation on a two-day official visit to Tehran. On Saturday, he spoke with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian foreign minister.

The Iranian foreign minister stressed that Tehran sees no barriers to improving relations with Belgrade during the meeting, characterizing the state of affairs between Iran and Serbia as constructive and friendly.

Ebrahim Raeisi, the president of Iran, stated last month that the Islamic Republic supports stability and peace in the Balkans.
