Raeisi highlights Iran's support for stability in Balkans

President Raeisi emphasized Iran's support for peace and stability in the Balkan region and stated that improved ties between Iran and Serbia are necessary.

Iran (IMNA) - The comments were made by Ebrahim Raeisi at their Sunday meeting with Vladimir Orli, Speaker of the Serbian Parliament.

The Iranian president emphasized the need to determine the capacities of the two countries as well as the mechanisms for developing relations in the joint commission of Iran and Serbia, saying that the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Serbia need further promotion and development, especially in the economic and commercial fields.

He stated that Iran does not foresee any barriers to raising the level of ties with the nations in this region, underscoring Iran's support for peace and stability in the Balkan region.

Raeisi emphasized that "the hegemons regulate relations with other governments only by looking at its own interests" and that "country leaders must be vigilant in preventing their divisive influence."

The Iranian president said, in reference to the shameful failure of the hegemons' sanctions against his country, "The Iranian nation was not only stopped by sanctions and pressures, but from these threats it created many opportunities for growth and progress, especially in various fields of technology, which can help to deepen cooperation with different countries."

For his part, Vladimir Orli greeted Raeisi on behalf of his nation's president.

In addition, he gave a report on the most recent events in the Balkan region and praised Iran for helping to bring stability and peace to the area.

Vladimir Orli praised the Islamic Republic of Iran government's accomplishments in advancing science, technology, and the economy while denouncing the cruel sanctions the US had placed on the countries.
