Iran (IMNA) - Raeisi emphasized the expansion of border markets and energy cooperation between the two countries during a meeting with Pakistan's Chief of Army General Asim Munir in Tehran on Sunday.
Raeisi forewarned of enemy plans to sour relations amongst the nations in the region. In order to strengthen regional stability, the Iranian president placed a high value on utilizing the available opportunities in the area and sharing capabilities.
The head of the Pakistani armed forces, for his part, praised Iran's strategy of increasing contact with its neighbors, particularly Pakistan.
A more secure neighborhood might result from increasing economic, commercial, and trade interactions, General Munir added, pointing to the extensive border between Iran and Pakistan. According to the general, agreements have been struck between Tehran and Islamabad to strengthen border security.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and the commander of the Pakistani army met and talked about expanding economic ties, fighting terrorism together, collaborating on the border, and exporting power and gas.
