France must alter its policy rather than following MKO's lead: Iran MP

In order to avoid succumbing to the influence of the terrorist group Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MKO), a prominent Iranian politician has urged France to rethink its unwise policies toward Tehran.

The remarks were made in two distinct letters sent to Jean-Louis Bourlanges and Christian Cambon, who are in charge of the foreign affairs committees of the French National Assembly and the Senate, respectively. Vahid Jalalzadeh is the chair of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament.

He stated, "The French government and chambers of parliament should undertake comprehensive and drastic adjustments in their incorrect attitude and policies regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran, rather than being swayed by the MKO's false propaganda and giving the terrorist organization forums to promote hatred.

Such strategies "can lead to the respect of the fundamental principles of human and minority rights and bring about peace in France."

Since the Islamic Revolution's success in 1979, the MKO has committed several terrorist acts against Iranian citizens and government figures. About 12,000 of the roughly 17,000 Iranians who have died in terrorist assaults over the past 40 years have been victims of the MKO's atrocities.

In the US and several European nations, including France, members of the infamous anti-Iran cult are permitted to conduct their activities.
