Iran (IMNA) - On the invitation of the senior Iranian diplomat, Ahmed Attaf arrived in Tehran on Saturday morning.
At the venue of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amir-Abdollahian greeted his Algerian opposite number.
The two foreign ministers and the delegations they were traveling with met after the welcome ceremony to talk about a number of topics.
During his journey to Tehran, the top Algerian ambassador is scheduled to meet with other senior Iranian officials.
In a joint news briefing after the meeting, the leading Iranian diplomat said they decided to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the domains of research, technology, knowledge-based firms, agriculture, medicine and medical equipment, industry, and mining.
He declared that "the two countries' relations are moving in the right direction." “At the political level, we have always had robust discussions and consultations at the level of high-ranking officials and presidents, prime ministers, first vice presidents, as well as foreign ministers, and we will continue this path.”
The first vice president of Iran and the prime minister of Algeria will serve on a joint follow-up panel, he said, and the foreign ministries of both countries would be in charge of the follow-up.
