Iran's FM concludes his Persian Gulf visit with "very good news"

After a three-day trip to Iran's Arab neighbors around the Persian Gulf, the foreign minister of Iran said the trip will provide "very good news" to the nations and the area.

Iran (IMNA) - Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Thursday on his visit to the UAE to discuss "bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation."

According to Iran's foreign ministry, Amir-Abdollahian extended Sheikh Mohammed's invitation to visit on behalf of President Ebrahim Raeisi.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, his counterpart from the Emiratis, was the next person he met with, and he stressed the importance of "establishing an international approach to multilateral action based on cooperation and partnership."

As they addressed topics of common interest, regional trends, and the development of bilateral ties, the two senior diplomats placed a high value on the necessity of fostering collaboration between the two neighbors.

Among the topics discussed were the areas of collaboration between Iran and the UAE in different political, economic, commercial, consular, cultural, and scientific spheres.

The journey came after visits in Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman and was the most recent in a flurry of diplomatic actions taken by Tehran to strengthen ties with its neighbors and stabilize the area.

"In the future, we will have extremely wonderful news for our beloved nation and the nations of these four countries within the framework of economic and commercial cooperation,” the Iranian foreign minister said.

"A new chapter has begun in the partnership between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the nations on the southern Persian Gulf coast. We have taken seriously putting bilateral concerns on our agenda in each of these countries, he continued.

A major change in regional cooperation and a push for fence-mending have resulted from an agreement reached between Iran and Saudi Arabia in March to heal relations after a years-long break.
