Iran (IMNA) - According to figures from the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) reported in a Thursday article by the official IRNA news agency, a CBI index that gauges activity in Iran's big industrial units climbed by 9.6% year on year in the year to March 20.
According to the study, "it rose to the highest level in the history of the country's manufacturing production," noting that throughout the four quarters of the previous calendar year, the CBI's Large Manufacturing Index had increased by 3.1%, 13.2%, 9.5%, and 12.8%, respectively, year on year.
The statistics represented industrial activity in more than 2,400 enterprises in Iran that employed over 100 people.
It reported that 23 out of 24 manufacturing categories evaluated by the CBI had risen in size of production in major plants, underlining that 16 of those categories had recorded double-digit growth from the year ending in March 2022.
According to the research, the Iranian motor vehicle industry had the best results in the survey for the year ending in late March, with a jump in output of about 31.8%.
In order to diversify its economy away from oil and lessen the effects of American sanctions on its crude oil exports, Iran has depended more and more on manufacturing.
According to experts, the effort has also assisted Iran in resolving its employment issues and improved the participation of the nation's private sector in important investment and development initiatives.
