Iran economy minister arrived in Saudi Arabia to foster  bilateral talks

Iran's Economy Minister Ehsan Khandouzi arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, leading a high-level economic delegation.

Iran (IMNA) - Khandouzi was received by representatives of the Saudi government, the Islamic Development Bank, and the city's Iranian Consulate General upon his arrival at Jeddah Airport.

The two most significant events on his schedule are bilateral talks with Saudi authorities and a speech at the meetings of the Islamic Development Bank.

After an earlier this year agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia on the restoration of diplomatic ties, this is the first visit by an Iranian official to Saudi Arabia.

On April 6, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia met in China, a month after the two countriess agreed to reestablish diplomatic relations under an agreement mediated by China.
