Iran's mining, metal exports increased by 12% in April

According to data reported in local media, Iran's mining and metals exports increased by 12% from one year ago to late April.

Iran (IMNA) - Iran's mining and metal exports totaled $951.9 million in the month ending on April 20. Exports in volume terms climbed by 55% year over year in April to reach 4.687 million metric tons (mt).

From late April until the end of the month, the exports of raw steel and steel products totaled $491.7 million, or 51.6%, of all exports from the Iranian mining and metals industry.

According to statistics in the study, copper exports from Iran reached $58.4 million over the same time period while iron ore shipments brought in $125.3 million in hard currency.

Iran's mining, metal exports increased by 12% in April

As reported by a senior official at the national mining and metals business IMIDRO, decreasing gas supplies to Iranian copper smelters prompted a decline in exports in the month to late April.

Amir Sabbagh, the director of economics and investment development at IMIDRO, reported that Iran's exports of sponge iron and iron pellets saw a significant increase in April.

Iran imported 0.281 million mt of mining and metals goods worth slightly over $300 million in the month to late April, a 55% increase in value and a 19% increase in volume over the same period last year.
