‘Silent House’ to Be Featured in Biggest North American Documentary Film Festival Canada's Hot Docs

- The documentary feature film "Silent House" co-directed by Farnaz Jurabchian and Mohammadreza Jurabchian is set to screen in the competition categories of festivals, namely Canada's Hot Docs and DOXA, Poland's Krakow, and Brazil's It's All True.

Iran (IMNA) - The documentary film "Silent House" co-directed by Farnaz Jurabchian and Mohammadreza Jurabchian siblings and produced by them along with Elaheh Nobakht, Stéphanie Lebrun, Jewel Maranan, and the National Film Board of Canada and edited by Hayedeh Safiyari is a joint production of Iran, Canada, France, the Philippines, and Qatar. This film will have its latest international screening on May 3 and 6, 2023, in the competition category of "World Showcase" at the 30th edition of Hot Docs International Documentary Film Festival of Canada.

Recounting the lives of three generations of an Iranian upper-middle-class family, "Silent House" had its world premiere in the main competition segment of the 35th round of IDFA in the Netherlands, and managed to achieve the Mitrani Award in the main competition category of FIPADOC, France. Hot Docs is one of the biggest and most important documentary film events in North America; the 30th round of this festival will be held from 2 April to 7 May, 2023, in the city of Toronto, Canada, showcasing documentary works from a variety of countries all around the globe in categories, namely the competition segment of "World Showcase", "Feature-Length Films" – competition, "Semi-Feature-Length Films" – competition, "Short Films" – competition, and the "Special Representations" segment. This documentary film will continue its international footprint by screening at DOXA, Canada, from 4-14 May, 2023, in Vancouver.

In line with its former global screenings, "Silent House" is slated to be featured in the 63rd Krakow International Film Festival of Poland and has been nominated for the Grand Prix in the given event. This round of the festival is set to be held from 28 May to 4 June, 2023, in Krakow, Poland. Krakow International Film Festival is one of the oldest exclusive festivals for documentary, animated, and other varieties of short films in Europe. As of 1961, the festival has been annually held in the city of Krakow, Poland. Great Polish filmmakers such as Krzysztof Kieślowski began their cinematic activities in Krakow. "Silent House" was also screened at the 28th edition of It's All True, which is one of the most eminent documentary film festivals in South America as well as being verified by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars).

The 28th round of this festival was held on 13-23 April 2023, in Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. "Silent House" had its final international screening at the 13th round of Luxemburg International Film Festival, earning a nomination for best documentary in this prestigious cinematic event.
