Iran, Turkey must rely on the religious and cultural similarities

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi has stated that Muslim nations must unite in order to stand against Israel's atrocities against the oppressed Palestinian people.

Iran (IMNA) - "Muslim nations demand that statesmen confront the crimes of the Zionist regime (Israel) against the oppressed Palestinian people," Raeisi said on Sunday during a meeting with Turkey's new ambassador to Tehran, Hicabi Krlangç.

Israel has increased its attacks on Palestinian villages and communities throughout the occupied territory in recent months. Hundreds of Palestinians have died as a consequence of these attacks, and many more have been jailed.

The majority of the raids have targeted Nablus and Jenin, where Israeli soldiers have been attempting to quell increasing Palestinian resistance to occupation.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Israeli troops routinely stormed the al-Aqsa mosque in occupied al-Quds, assaulting Palestinian worshipers before detaining them.

Local and international human rights organizations have criticised Israel's use of disproportionate force and "shoot-to-kill policy" against Palestinians.

Iran, Turkey must rely on the religious and cultural similarities

In other parts of his speech, Raeisi addressed the long-standing links between Iran and Turkey, saying, "Despite the attempts of the naysayers, we must rely on the religious and cultural similarities and work for the strengthening and expansion of relations among Muslim states countries in various fields."

The new Turkish ambassador stated his nation had friendly relations with Iran as he presented his credentials to President Raeisi. He committed to do all of his best to strengthen bilateral ties and foster more communication and engagement between the two sides.
