Iran (IMNA) - Water stored in reservoirs since the Iranian water year began on September 23 has surpassed 28.8 billion cubic meters, according to a statement released by the Ministry on Saturday.
According to the declaration, overall water intake in dams has grown by 18% to 23.26 bcm since the beginning of the water year.
The amount of water that was released from the dams in the more than seven months leading up to March 8 was 13.54 bcm, a little rise from the 13.18 bcm that was seen at the same time previous year. According to the government, Iranian reservoirs were 58% full on March 8.
The report comes amid fears about probable water shortages in Iran over the forthcoming summer months.
The administration has frequently warned that increased demand for water in Iran's agricultural sector is affecting supplies pouring into reservoirs.
