Iran expects a strategic cooperation agreement with Russia to be concluded "in less than a month"

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iran's Foreign Minister, has voiced optimism that a strategic cooperation deal with Russia will be concluded in "less than a month."

Iran (IMNA) - "Reviews of the two countries' long-term strategic partnership agreement have been concluded in Russia. Iran has also investigated at it. I expect that the final modification of the agreement will be carried out by Iran's Foreign Ministry in less than a month," Amir-Abdollahian said during a meeting with his Russian colleague, Sergei Lavrov, in Moscow on Wednesday.

"High-ranking Iranian and Russian delegations are exchanging ideas at various levels, and the presidents of the two nations are in regular communication."

Currently, the two countries are attempting to sign a bilateral strategic cooperation accord, which might shape their future ties for the next twenty years.

In his remarks, the senior Iranian diplomat also emphasized that Iran-Russia relations are on the right road, with the hope that bilateral collaboration in regional and international institutions will continue.

For his part, Lavrov maintained that the discussions between Iran and Russia are moving further.

In addition to the execution of key projects, he highlighted that Tehran and Moscow's relations had improved in the areas of politics, business, investment, and economics.

He said that bilateral connections have grown steadily under the framework of the joint economic commission, emphasizing strong collaboration in international and regional matters.
