In light of the most recent developments in Iran's foreign policy, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian claims that Tehran is heading "on the right road" to implement a "balanced" and "dynamic" foreign policy approach.

Iran (IMNA) - The Iranian Foreign Minister claimed in a tweet on Monday that he has recently talked to senior diplomats from various countries and that he will soon meet with his Russian opposite number in Moscow.

Iran's current administration, led by President Ebrahim Raeisi, is pursuing a policy of reconciliation and strengthening ties with neighboring, regional, and trans-regional countries.

Amir-Abdollahian spoke on the phone with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud of Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

The latest developments regarding a recent agreement between Tehran and Riyadh to thaw relations, as well as a planned bilateral meeting during the current Muslim holy month of Ramadan, were addressed during the conversation between the two parties.

They also discussed the positive development of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

After a seven-year diplomatic break, Iran and Saudi Arabia decided to reestablish contact and restore their embassies and posts earlier this month.

The reconciliation between the two Middle Eastern powers was facilitated by China.

In a joint statement, Tehran and Riyadh emphasized the need of respecting each other's national sovereignty and refraining from intervening in one another's internal affairs.

They agreed to put into effect a security cooperation agreement made in April 2001, as well as another agreement inked in May 1998 to increase economic, commercial, investment, technological, scientific, cultural, sports, and youth affairs collaboration.
