Iran FM condemned terrorist groups for exploiting country's recent instability

According to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, a number of European governments made terrible miscalculation on recent violent riots in the Islamic Republic of Iran due to fraudulent and deceptive reports compiled by the anti-Iran and terrorist group Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO).

Iran (IMNA) - Amir-Abdollahian made the statements during a phone call with his Spanish counterpart, José Manuel Albares Bueno.

The Iranian foreign minister also admired King Felipe VI of Spain's message of congratulations to Iran's President Ebrahim Raeisi on the 44th anniversary of Islamic Revolution.

He also expressed Iran's willingness to expand relations with Spain in a variety of areas.

Albares, for his part, praised Madrid-Tehran relations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining mutual cooperation.

The two senior diplomats also discussed the recent developments in Ukraine, Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the efforts to lift sanctions on Iran, and issues concerning consular relations between the two countries.

Earlier, Amir-Abdollahian lambasted some European countries' unconstructive stance and miscalculations in response to the recent riots in Iran following the death of a 22-year-old Iranian woman, Mahsa Amini, as he met with his Finnish counterpart Pekka Haavisto on the margins of a Human Rights Council conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
