Iran, Iraq to boost military cooperation

Iraq's defense minister paid a visit to Tehran at a time when Iran and Iraq are focusing on regional security and stability through increased defense cooperation, with both sides prioritizing border security.

Iran (IMNA) - Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani, Iran's defense minister, emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not tolerate any security threats to its borders.

He addressed the presence of extra-regional forces, particularly the Zionist regime, as the primary risks not only to Iraq but also to the regional stability.

Likewise, Iraq's defense minister expressed Baghdad's willingness to expand ties with Tehran.

In recent years, Tehran has maintained strong and high-level connections with neighboring nations, particularly Iraq, reaffirming that international ties and improving relations with neighbors are among the most important sectors of Iran's foreign policy.

Iran has made significant advancements in its defense capabilities, and it is now recognized as self-sufficient. The Defense Minister stated once again that Iran is willing to share its rich knowledge with the Iraqi side.
