West’s media frenzy about Iran is a failed attempt to foster Iranophobia

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has called the US and its three main European allies' attempts to start a propaganda campaign against the Islamic Republic "futile," saying the anti-Iran move is a "threadbare technique" used to disguise their own domestic and international issues.

Iran (IMNA) - Nasser Kana'ani made the remark in a series of tweets following US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's unfounded claims about Iran's nuclear program and non-cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency in a meeting with the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the 2023 Munich Security Conference (MSC) in the Bavarian capital.

Blinken repeated unfounded allegations about Iran's "human rights violations" and the two-way military collaboration between Iran and Russia.

"Creating external crises and playing the blame game is a threadbare approach employed by the West and the Zionist apartheid regime to cover up their internal difficulties amid repeated waves of public protests and strikes, especially given their international hurdles," Kana'ani tweeted.

"The US regime's and certain European countries' media frenzy about Iran is a failed attempt to foster Iranophobia in order to justify their illegal and anti-human rights acts against the Iranian people," he continued.

The Munich Security Conference, which began on Friday, was held in the absence of delegates from Russia and Iran.

According to the event's official website, Iran has sent a top official to the conference since at least 2009, with the exception of 2011-12, when the country was sanctioned by the US and the European Union, and 2021, following the COVID-19 outbreak.
