Iran (IMNA) - Gholamreza Saketi said, "Intelligent Waste Management Training Center is the right place to provide specialized education to children and adolescents; they will get the drift of various waste management techniques through multifarious information."
Referring to the final stage of the construction project of intelligent center for waste management training, he added, "Part of the necessary equipment for this center has been purchased and the rest is under purchase order. We will carry out the equipment phase in parallel to the construction one so that we will be able to inaugurate the center on February 11th corresponding to the anniversary of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution."
The Director General of Isfahan Municipality's Waste Management Organization considered education and culture building as the strategic priorities of this organization to achieve environmental goals and noted, "arranging specialized workshops and conducting urban events are among these programs and it is expected that by taking advantage of such capacities and the participation of citizens, we will be able to witness the emergence of appropriate waste disposal behaviors."
There are numerous ways to encourage citizens to take action. Contributions of citizens in management of waste can be increased by raising public awareness. Understanding the factors influencing waste manadement behavior will lead to better and more effective recycling programs in a community.
The way of managing domestic waste disposal could affect the economic, social, and health status of a community. In this sense, citizens should be directly involved in the waste management processes and recycling operations.
