Iran (IMNA) - Urban administration seeks to advance knowledge of how to make cities more habitable, inclusive, and liveable. Over 50% of the world population lives in urban areas, and it has been estimated that by 2045, the world's urban population will ratchet up to 6 billion. City administrator must make rapid progress to plan for growth and provide the basic services and infrastructure for citizens.
In this relation ,the mayor of Isfahan said, "taking the capacities of each region into account, we should go as far as to get people participate in the city administration and receive their help to shape city development. "
Ali Ghasemzadeh said, "During the new era of urban management, all efforts are to realize the slogan of "Isfahan, the city of life", the standard that has been set as a pattern for urban management is the converging city model that includes defined principles. "
Saying that one of the basic principles of a converging city is the matter of acceptability, he added, "An urban manager could be successful if he is accepted by the society; having a good relationship with the municipal body and citizens should be headed the main principles of all managers' measures."
He added that with the efforts of the city council members and municipal managers, the Municipality is moving towards transparency in all areas as more and more the body is confronted by citizens demanding transparency.
Transparency at the local level has been considered as an important factor in tackling some of the challenges to sustainable development of cities.
People should be motivated to help develop their own city; therefore, it is necessary to move towards attracting investors in Isfahan and take advantages of their capacity to the urban development.
Ali gHasemzadeh ended, "we should all arrive at the city administration under the unit framework; Management bases should not act like archipelagos; a converging city is expected to be run in a way that it takes creativity and managerial innovation into account.
