127,299 Iranians lost their lives due to coronavirus

The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus‌‌‌‌‌‌ has killed over 5,062,367 people and infected 250,379,930 worldwide.

Iran (IMNA) - Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education announced that 126 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 127,299.

7554 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, some 1,078 of whom have been hospitalized, Sadat Lari said.

There have been nearly 5,987,814 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 5,601,764 of whom cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread by implementing COVID-19 vaccination strategies.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 250 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 5 million; however, more than 226 million people have recovered.
