Regarding the importance of the Tehran International Short Film Festival, he said: "This festival is nearly 40 years old and has a special place among Iranian and world short filmmakers, and every year they send their latest works to this prestigious cinematic event."
In previous years, about 4,500 works were sent to the secretariat of the Tehran International Short Film Festival, but this year, after the approval of the Academy, more than 2,000 films and a total of 6,402 works from directors around the world were sent to the festival.

At the end of the conversation about the presence of foreign guests in the 38th Tehran International Short Film Festival, Jahani said: "For two years, no foreign guests have attended the festival due to coronary conditions;" But this year, due to the inclusion of the Tehran International Short Film Festival in the list of OSCAR® Qualifying festivals, many critics and journalists around the world wanted to attend the festival, but due to the coronavirus conditions, it was not possible to host the foreign guests at the festival.
