Cultural innovation in religious fields high on agenda

The head of the Cultural, Social and Sports Commission of the Islamic City Council of Isfahan said, “Isfahan is the capital of culture and civilization that holds national and international relations .”

Iran (IMNA) - "Paying attention to the neighborhood-centered and mosque-oriented policy in Isfahan is one the main approaches taken by the city council due to the fact that Isfahan has about 200 neighborhoods and we must take heed to low-income areas that need special practices for cultural and social affairs,” Manouchehr Mehrvaripoor added.

He noted,” Isfahan is home to artists, handicrafts and creative industries; special attention has been paid to the prosperity of the cultural economy in urban policy-making. Cultural innovation in religious fields should be also high on the agenda.”

Saying that coordinated development of cultural and social infrastructures is one of the paramount approaches of the Cultural, Social and Sports Commission, he went on to say that the Municipality will exercise justice and harmony especially in deprived neighborhoods.

The head of the Cultural, Social and Sports Commission of the Islamic City Council of Isfahan stated, " One of the strong point of the 34th International Film Festival for Children and Youth was that the movies screened in the heart of low-income areas; mobile cinemas were launched in deprived neighborhoods.”

Stressing that the Isfahan Municipality is trying to curb social harms and improve public health particularly in low - income areas, he added, " sports, especially the public ones are of particular importance for the health and wellness of citizens.”
