Iran (IMNA) - Iran on Tuesday reported 50,228 new coronavirus cases, bringing the number of active infections to 4,517,243 according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health.
Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education reported that another 625 COVID-19 patients have died from the virus, taking the country's total COVID-19 related fatalities to 99,108.
The extremely high incidence of infections has imposed heavy overload on hospital services. Having regard to the predominance of viral variants with higher transmissibility, the need to maintain a dramatic reduction of physical interactions between people and of mobility is on the agenda.
